Breathtaking Home Transformation

From "alarming disrepair" to "neighborhood jewel" - breathtaking home transformation incorporates Poggenpohl to create stunning new kitchen

While some people viewed the decaying house on 76th Street in New York City to be a hopeless heap of garbage, Dana Lowey Luttway, CEO & President of Holliswood Development, LLC, saw a gleaming 7-bedroom home, complete with a Poggenpohl designed kitchen.

"This is a true ruins-to-riches story," Luttway explains. "Although the building itself was in a state of complete disarray, the bones and structure of the building were quite sound. I focused on every detail imaginable during the renovation process, from the commercial-grade elevator to the elaborate Elan Smart House system that can be controlled from a smartphone throughout the home."

118 W. 76th St., once an eyesore whose only redeeming quality was a Bob Dylan poster plastered on its wooden makeshift barricade, is now listed on the market for $16.6 million. After the house's original owner passed away the property was sold for $5,000, but after 35-years of sitting in neglect, the home on 76th Street, began to decay and fill with garbage and rodents.

Each square foot of this 8507 sq. ft., 7-floor home is equally as breathtaking as the next. The awe-inspiring rooms have been restored now beyond recognition from their original designs. The new kitchen space in particular is a warm and bright area, perfect for entertaining large crowds or just a small family. Some of its more unique features include both a coffee station and a juicing station.

Roger Zierman, showroom manager and designer for Poggenpohl Downtown New York speaks to the kitchen design his studio team masterminded, "In particular, the finishes are a beautiful combination that has personality, but not so much that it distracts from the window wall and beautiful backyard view."

"The kitchen has every appliance a chef could want in their home," states Zierman.
