Poggenpohl products are exclusively made from wood grown by sustainable forest management

Poggenpohl produces long-lasting kitchens of superlative quality that guarantee maximum safety and avoid harming the environment as much as possible.

Poggenpohl’s world of pure, beautiful, creative and luxury kitchens is also opened to sustainability; in fact sustainability is one of the key principles of the Poggenpohl philosophy. It is safeguarded through proactive product development practices that are aimed at sparing resources, as well as intelligent design that follows no short-lived fashion trend.

By reinforcing the fundamental values of luxury, sustainability can help to clearly distinguish its difference versus more ‘common’ premium brands. Poggenpohl shows a more rich comprehension of the fragile nature of things, and as a result it defends the rarity of its products, the talent of its craftsmen and the value of its noble materials.

The company’s products are exclusively made from wood grown by sustainable forest management and are created solely at its German headquarters in Herford, in East-Westphalia, where all production workflows are geared towards minimizing energy consumption and avoiding waste. The paints and lacquers used in production are solvent-free and over 80 percent of Poggenpohl’s suppliers are also located in the region. This way, distances are kept short allowing transportation with minimum environmental impact and the ecological standards can be consistently checked and enforced.

Wherever possible, innovative body constructions with a sandwich design replace heavy panel materials that are raw material intensive. Since they are high-quality, high-tech composite materials with a honeycomb core, they reduce wood consumption as well as transport costs.

Constantly looking for new possibilities of using environmentally beneficial materials and sustainable manufacturing methods, Poggenpohl has developed an innovative carcase based on a honeycomb board for its latest product , the P'7340 kitchen developed in collaboration with Porsche Design, in which 40% less material is required and the parts simultaneously become lighter.
