The New York design community came out to celebrate the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island’s Pre-Construction Celebration for their Project Design 2014. The event, held at the historic Friar’s Club, was sponsored by Poggenpohl in recognition of the tireless work and commitment of Manhasset based contractor and designer Vasi Ypsilantis of Vasi Ypsilantis Design Associates and owner of Poggenpohl Long Island along with Sea Cliff-based designer Margreet Cevasco of Margreet Cevasco Design. Poggenpohl Long Island has committed to donating kitchens for Phase II of their kitchen renovation for the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island (RMH-LI).
Giving back is second nature to the tag team duo and brains behind the quarter million dollar kitchen renovation provided for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. Ypsilantis and Cevasco are on their way to completing the second phase of the project within an initiative called Project Design.
Project Design is an effort led by interior design industry to provide a calm and restful healing environment for families experiencing the pain of having a child in area hospitals. Phase I updated RMH-LI’s original 18 bedrooms, four kitchens, breakfast room, five common areas, first floor restrooms and three laundry rooms. More than $2 million in design, labor and materials were donated to this first-of-its-kind initiative.
