At Poggenpohl in Atlanta

April was marked by a few amazing gastronomic events throughout the world. Atlanta was no exception… Rediscover this event which took visitors on a journey of wonderful scents and amazing savours through the remarkable world of Poggenpohl.

ATLANTA FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL

Last week, Poggenpohl Atlanta opened its doors to a magnificent private event of gastronomy, co-hosted with the Atlanta Food and Wine Festival organization. The distinguished Chef Kevin Rathbun, known for his five restaurants in Atlanta and Food Network appearances, served southern fare infused with southwestern flavour, while the nationally recognized Chef Eric Wolitzky, of Top Chef Just Desserts, prepared delicious homemade turtle and strawberry pies.

Guests also enjoyed a special wine selection by the Atlanta Food and Wine Festival, as well as a signature cocktail created by Four Roses Bourbon, and Georgia’s own Wild Heaven Brewery.

    ABOUT Kevin Rathbun
    Kevin’s background started in humble beginnings in Kansas City. His drive and passion landed him the chef’s position at NAVA in Atlanta, GA where he brought Southwest taste to the Southeast capital. Earning Esquire “Top New Restaurant” for NAVA was a highlight, as was being the Corporate Chef of the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group. While overseeing NAVA, BluePointe, Kyma and The Buckhead Diner, his growing list of accolades propelled him to go out on his own. In May of 2004, Kevin opened his namesake restaurant Rathbun’s in Atlanta. It opened to critical acclaim and was voted by Esquire as one of the “Top New Restaurants in the Country.” In 2005 he opened Krog Bar and then Kevin Rathbun Steak in 2007. Kevin resides in Atlanta with his wife, Melissa.

  • Atlanta Food & Wine Festival

    The Atlanta Food & Wine Festival is the creation of the dynamic Atlanta entrepreneurial duo, Elizabeth Feichter (right) and Dominique Love (left). The pair first joined forces almost 10 years ago to run Corporate Community Outsourcing, a philanthropic consulting firm created by Love after leaving her post managing The Coca-Cola Company’s corporate giving.

    Love’s corporate philanthropy experience coupled with Feichter’s extensive nonprofit experience, including her role as the Director of Development for Hands on Atlanta, has positioned their agency as a go-to resource for corporations and nonprofit organizations wanting to have a more strategic impact in the community.

    Their work developing a national cause-marketing campaign for FOOD & WINE magazine led the duo to the magazine’s famed FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen.  So impressed by the Classic’s programming and how the weekend drew smart, food-loving people, Feichter and Love decided to recreate the concept in Atlanta to showcase and celebrate their beloved Southern region and its rich food and beverage traditions.
