"There were 1,784 entries for the Sub-Zero & Wolf Kitchen Design Contest," stated
Neil Bailey, president Poggenpohl U.S. "And just 53 regional winners were chosen. We are incredibly proud to be represented by our extraordinary Poggenpohl designers and wish them luck as they move on to the National competition to be decided in September."
Located in the exclusive Miami retreat of Fisher Island, this condo kitchen was transformed into a center island design. The original “U” shape was not friendly for the condo unit. This was resolved by creating a wall that contains the sewage and water lines of the sinks in both islands. The wall became a design element and a large bar for casual dining that is the heart of the new space. The cooking area was relocated and the floor matches limestone that is found throughout the home. Although it was a large kitchen, the original design was not functional and now everything is at hand. The mirrored stainless steel finish in the hood created a luxurious feel and professional appliance functionality.
Poggenpohl Miami/Hausscape will be entered in an on-line “Designers Choice Competition” during the month of July. In September the they will attend the Best of the Best winners summit in Scottsdale where the first, second, and third place winners will be announced as well as the Designer’s Choice and Student winners.
