Poggenpohl’s Dallas Design Studio won first place honors in the Contemporary Kitchen category for Signature Kitchens & Baths Annual Design Awards 2014. Find all about the beautiful winning project.
Poggenpohl’s Dallas Design Studio won first place honors in the Contemporary Kitchen category for Signature Kitchens & Baths Annual Design Awards 2014 - for a kitchen designed by Jennifer Fordham, ASID, RID. This marked the 16th year of the annual design awards competition; categories for kitchen design include Transitional, Contemporary and Traditional.
Poggenpohl designer Jennifer Fordham’s goals for the winning project were to make the space both functional and modern while keeping with the beach-inspired aesthetic of the beautiful house in north-west Florida. Although working with the architectural style of the home posed a challenge, she was able to integrate those features into her design by installing a floor-to-ceiling highly polished laminate Poggenpohl kitchen in aqua (a colour created to order), where the whole family may enjoy late brunches or host summer parties for friends.
“The concept of the kitchen was a room within a room, with cooking at the island, main sink at window wall and preparation/bar sink at front peninsula. A glass bar top unites cooking and dining areas.”
