On May 15th Poggenpohl celebrated Yogesh Dhokia’s 25 years with the company at a party held at Norman Glenn, its Finchley Road showroom. The evening event was attended by staff and customers keen to show their appreciation of one of the company’s most popular and successful showroom managers.
Although he has a degree in maths and economics Yogesh was always creative. After university and a year working for Bulthaup he joined Norman Glenn, the Poggenpohl kitchen showroom on London’s Finchley Road, and stayed for 25 years designing over 1.000 kitchens. Despite seeing many changes in the industry, he has always hand drawn his designs. He says, “You can add a very personal touch to hand drawings and I think customers value them far more than computer generated images.”
This attention to detail has resulted in a loyal following with Yogesh supplying kitchens to second and third generations of the same family. One particular customer has moved house and refurbished properties resulting in five repeat visits to Yogesh. And when his customers move abroad they still call on Yogesh to design their kitchens, he has worked on projects as far afield as Delhi.
“What I enjoy most about this job are the people,” he says. “I enjoy the challenge of meeting new customers but also love the fact that so many of my existing customers consider me a friend.”

With the development of the P‘7340 by Poggenpohl and the Porsche Design Studio, two companies came together which have for many years stood for timeless, clear design. The result is a kitchen which goes beyond the horizontal and takes on masculine attributes. Edged in a frame and breaking traditional design lines, it is entering unexplored territory in the world of kitchens. The P‘7340 cannot be improved. But its philosophy continues.
The P‘7350 takes another innovative path juxtaposing the vertical with the horizontal, in addition to being an extraordinary kitchen design.
Through the mitering of the front and carcase – a unique technique in the kitchen furniture industry – the front appears as a fine vertical line. In contrast to the clearly-defined front, the blades – solid design fascias emphasised by the areas of the kitchen structure – and the individual kitchen components can be visually connected with each other. The kitchen design becomes more open and varied, appealing equally to everyone. The P‘7350 combines high quality materials with unostentatious design, continuing the special character of the P‘7340.
Discover the fascination of a kitchen which stands for what has characterised Poggenpohl and Porsche Design Studio over many years: concentration on the overall line.
