POGGENPOHL meets street art
Poggenpohl is a co-partner of Marta, a museum of modern art at the production site in Herford. The architect was none other than the American Frank O. Gehry. The manufacturer of luxury kitchens is having a 15 metre long wall designed by the street artist The Krank for the in-house exhibition, as part of Küchenmeile A30. To creatively stage the brand’s values once again.
Herford, Germany 15th September 2018. Poggenpohl, a total pioneer of the modern kitchen, has always broken with conventions and driven innovation. At the heart of the brand too. Variety and openness are being seen more than ever as the benchmark for a diverse society in a globalised world at one of the best German manufacturers of luxury kitchens. Poggenpohl already showed what this means in a newly designed showroom on Via Galilei Galileo in Milan at Eurocucina 2018: following people in their lives, in different parts of the world, in different cultures. In fact, even in different stages of their lives (https://youtu.be/1x3G5auSBSs).
Poggenpohl has reinterpreted the +SEGMENTO kitchen concept and staged it in three versions for international retailers and journalists at its showroom in Herford in order to be able to follow generation Y better. Casually complemented by the young consumer generation’s iconic lifestyle pieces. To make the millennial beat tangible for all visitors, Poggenpohl has commissioned the Berlin street artist The Krank to paint a 15 metre long wall covered in fabric during the exhibition.
With this promotion, Poggenpohl is bringing a young, fresh attitude to life into the showroom and providing space for the spontaneous creativity that happens all over the world with young people on social media. By collaborating with The Krank, you could say the new +SEGMENTO Y kitchen concept is going to be “instagramable”. That’s innovation too: appealing to young consumers with concepts that they are receptive to. This is only possible if tradition provides the reliable foundation.
Poggenpohl was and is a pioneer: the company has been developing, designing and producing luxury kitchens at its premises in Herford, Germany for more than 125 years. The benchmarks for Poggenpohl are always people and their needs, social change and looking towards the future. Nationally and internationally. 450 Poggenpohl Studios all over the world offer first-class consulting and design expertise with the aim of turning customers’ ideas into “their” perfect kitchen.
