Poggenpohl outfits iconic De Gustibus Cooking School in New York, NY with an extraordinarily beautiful and functional kitchen design

Fairfield, NJ – January 2015 – Poggenpohl, the oldest and best-known luxury kitchen brand in the world, created a contemporary kitchen design for the newly renovated De Gustibus Cooking School by Miele in New York City. De Gustibus reopens for its 35th anniversary with a fully transformed classroom and operational kitchen that mixes a professional chef's work environment with an intimate and inviting atmosphere. Poggenpohl's cabinetry and shelving offer warmth and style, while providing innovative ways to maximize space. The striking kitchen design includes glare-free, matte backdrops to prevent distraction and convenient storage solutions to amplify organization and collaboration amongst students and chefs.

"Poggenpohl stands at the forefront of creating luxurious, state-of-the-art kitchens and our design for the De Gustibus Cooking School embodies just that," states Roger Zierman, designer and showroom manager for Poggenpohl Downtown in New York, NY. "Every detail of this kitchen was carefully crafted to encourage enjoyable interaction. We want to inspire students and chefs to enjoy new culinary experiences whilst providing a highly advanced, ergonomic and hands-on work space."

For over 20 years, De Gustibus has showcased on Miele appliances throughout the school including ovens, warming drawers, cooktops, refrigeration and wine storage. BLANCO provided SteelArt sinks and professional faucets, featuring homey designs but reflecting the highest standards that visiting chefs expect in their own restaurant kitchens. Also featured are exceptional bathroom fixtures from the Kartell by Laufen collection, as well as luxury ceramic floor and wall tiles by Roca Tile, a Tile of Spain manufacturer.
