Poggenpohl St. Albans

The Old Stable

This property is based close to the UK’s Norfolk coastline in an area designated for its outstanding natural beauty. Being a relatively new build it has been designed with a traditional farmhouse feel, with wooden beams and a beautiful brickwork cove that now houses a Gaggenau 90cm oven, with hobs and worktop ventilation, giving a suburb modern twist to the range style cooking, reminiscent of the farmhouse the client grew up in.

The +SEGMENTO furniture in pebble grey and sand grey acrylic lacquer was selected for the kitchen, pantry and utility room, creating a stylish and modern feel amongst the traditional elements.

This chosen palette sits intrinsically within the mixed warm colours of the architectural brickwork and flooring. Even the worksurface from Neolith, Pietra di Luna, which literally translates to Moonstone; was the perfect enhancement for this space.

A Spekva breakfast bar was added to the island so the clients may sit and enjoy a coffee provided by the bean to cup machine, there is something almost tranquil about the touch of timber in a Poggenpohl lacquered kitchen.

The pop of colour comes from the clients perfectly selected pendant lighting that hangs above the island and the stools and chairs that surround the white lacquer table and breakfast bar.

The larder that is a few steps from the main kitchen, has the added bonus of a folding door unit that sits on the worktop, perfect for housing the items you like to see but also hideaway.

The utility room, a generous amount of space, for a 4 stack of laundry appliances, huge M&E cupboard and cloaks cupboard; even had room left over for a bookshelf display area complete with canopy lighting.

L shaped Island

This +SEGMENTO kitchen, created by the design team at Poggenpohl St Albans, is in Pebble Grey matt lacquer with a white quartz worktop. The unusual ‘L’ shaped island includes a Spekva natural wood breakfast bar and integrated double sink with Quooker boiling water tap.

To keep the kitchen clutter free a breakfast cupboard is hidden behind double doors. Additional features include the wall hung sideboard with open shelves above, decorative plinth lights and the eye-catching Wolf range cooker.

In the pink

Poggenpohl St Albans were asked to create an open plan kitchen suitable for a busy family of six. The resulting design incorporates a variety of cooking appliances including built in teppanyaki plate, practical breakfast cupboard which can be closed away behind pocket doors when not in use, and attractive bar area which helps this kitchen transition into the living area.

As seen on Grand Designs

This unusual architect designed property was the subject of the Grand Designs TV show in September 2017. The light filled, single storey property is designed to make the kitchen the heart of the home, so the designers at Poggenpohl St Albans worked closely with the architect throughout the project to make his vision become a reality. The matt lacquer kitchen is truly bespoke with a non-standard RAL colour chosen for the doors and all units are of varying sizes and depths to fit the space available. The worktop is Lapitec Cemento and the appliances are from Sub Zero Wolf with a Zip boiling water tap. Unusual features include two way drawers which are accessible from both sides of the island.

Family kitchen

This spacious family kitchen was designed by the team at St Albans to be both a practical kitchen but also an attractive space for entertaining friends and family. The +Segmento kitchen is in Sand Grey matt lacquer with anthracite porcelain worktops. The bronzed reflective glass used behind the sink adds an interesting dynamic to the scheme.

In the living area floating units with a large TV mirror above create a media corner, while the integrated bar with pocket doors helps this design slip easily from day time practical to evening entertaining

Traditional and Modern

This elegant kitchen, created by Poggenpohl St Albans, illustrates how a modern kitchen can sit comfortably in a traditional setting. The kitchen features White Pine and Pebble Grey matt lacquer doors with a quartz worktop and Gaggenau built in cooking appliances. The kitchen sits comfortably in its Edwardian setting, which includes period details such as an open fire and wood panelling. The designers were even able to incorporate the client’s much loved AGA.

Total refurbishment

When they wanted to completely refurbish their kitchen this client turned to Poggenpohl St Albans. The designer suggested a +SEGMENTO kitchen in soft pebble grey, the matt finish brings a warmth to the open plan space which is enhanced by the teak accent details. A durable quartz worktop is used for base units and repeated on the generous island which doubles as a work station and breakfast bar.

Dual Purpose

This Poggenpohl kitchen was designed by Poggenpohl St Albans for a customer who bakes cup cakes professionally. The kitchen had to double as her workspace and as somewhere to prepare family meals. A dividing wall was built to house two Gagganau 200 Series ovens, coffee machine, combi steam oven, wine cooler, fridge and freezer. The island houses an induction hob and induction wok, barbecue grill, a pair of Sub Zero fridge and freezer drawers as well as Blanco sink and a Zip boiling water tap. Cabinets are Poggenpohl's +Segmento handleless design in matt grey lacquer with a Ceaserstone worktop.
