Working with the Poggenpohl Soho team to plan and design a custom fridge wall to enhance our kitchen was a fantastic experience. Thanks Angelo and Carin! Additionally, once design selections were finalized, we were very pleasantly surprised that coordinating production, shipping, delivery and installation was seamless and reliable to the exact dates. The overall completed fridge wall is just awesome and we really appreciate the incredible attention to detail from the Poggenpohl Soho team who made it all happen.

We recently purchased an apartment in New York City and undertook a gut rehab in a midcentury style. After spending a lot of time meeting with kitchen designers and cabinet vendors (both European and local companies), we had the good fortune to visit the Poggenpohl New York Studio in SoHo where we met Angelo Loscrudato and his team. We knew our search had ended after that first meeting. Angelo took the time to listen to what we were looking for and thereafter patiently worked with us and our architect and interior designer to achieve our goals. In fact, everyone at Poggenpohl Soho went above and beyond, making helpful suggestions on our kitchen design while being transparent on timing and pricing throughout. As the cabinets are produced in Germany and shipped to the United States, we needed to be sure that their timeline was integrated into our overall project timeline. Once we did so, the cabinets were fabricated and delivered within the timeframe promised (despite COVID and supply chain issues). Poggenpohl's local installation crew in NYC were similarly easy to work with and our general contractor had no material issues coordinating their work with his work to deliver the project as specified. While there will always be things that come up in construction, we were pleasantly surprised that Angelo helped us address any such issues in an expeditious manner. He genuinely cares that his customers are happy and goes the extra mile. The most important thing to note is that while we had heard many time from various designers and contractors that they could produce cabinets "just as good" for less money or more quickly and they would be "customized" to our space, what we found when we actually went to see some of these projects in person is that those other cabinets were not "just as good." They were of similar design, but after a short period of time in use, the cheaper cabinets would have hinges out of alignment and drawers that didn't fully close (or opened on their own) and squeaky joints. In other words, they were cheaper and they looked and performed as such and over time have not lasted like the Poggenpohl cabinets have. Our perception is that there is a big difference between having something engineered and fabricated in a factory in German to a very high-standard of fit and finish on well-calibrated machinery vs. asking a well-meaning local workshop and a contractor in the field try to make something "just as good." A good contractor can make anything fit and look nice at the start, but if you are the sort who appreciates the virtues of German engineering and modernist design, you will see and feel the difference right away and even more so over time. In sum, we are very happy with the cabinets and very happy with the process and with the entire team at Poggenpohl Soho (but especially Angelo) for all of their hard work to ensure the successful completion of our project.
