Award-Winning Poggenpohl Kitchen Featured in KBDN

Krista Agapito of S&W Kitchens won Gold in this year’s KBDN Awards Contest. The open-floor concept in the Longwood, Florida home was awarded “Best Kitchen over $225,000.”

Agapito was working within the style of a 1980s build, so some walls and counter space had to be modified to open up the kitchen. This created an opportunity for massive amounts of storage, so Agapito installed Poggenpohl’s Polar White Satin cabinets. The center island was outfitted in the same cabinetry as well. For contrast, the back wall bar area features our horizontal walnut fronts in NutTree. Pebble Grey cabinets also outfit the space.

All cabinetry features our signature push-to-open cabinet doors, which allows the entire back wall to remain entirely handle-less.

Moot Condo Kitchen by Sarah Kraus

This modern, sleek and contemporary Poggenpohl kitchen was designed by Sarah Kraus of S&W Kitchens.

The client wanted to update their mini penthouse condo in downtown Orlando with Asian-inspired products and materials to complement their collectibles and furnishings from their travels. Poggenpohl's natural wood-toned cabinets with black and white surfacing –with some punches of red -- create a modern Asian feel.

The original kitchen felt dysfunctional and small with tall soffits. Removing about half of the soffit helped open the kitchen to create more room for display and storage. The sink and the dishwasher, which were once in a dysfunctional location, were relocated elsewhere in the kitchen to create a more harmonious flow with the main refrigerator.

New kitchen features include a hood, a built-in microwave drawer, and a beverage refrigerator in the bar area, where Kraus designed a recessed wall cabinet to store beverage glasses.

Bradley Project by Mary Burkhammer

Client came in specifically for a Poggenpohl kitchen and was familiar with the quality of the line.  She and her husband had been living in the home and wanted to update the existing traditional wood raised panel kitchen to a more “clean line, contemporary kitchen”.  Walls came down and the kitchen became more of an “open plan” making it more conducive to entertaining.  The Segmento channel and electric touch open drawers allowed for the “Handless” style, while appliances received cabinet panels , keeping the  lines of the kitchen clean and uncluttered.  Tall pull out pantries and drawer dividers offered great storage.
